Audio-Visual Department
To ensure that the programmes and messages are properly recorded
- Ensure quality recording of all church programmes as directed.
- Ensure proper documentation of such materials.
- Pursue a vigorous programme to market the products to church members and the general public.
- Ensure a more professional packaging of such materials.
Other Essential Services:
Sound Engineers Department
To ensure that all Church equipment to do with sound are effectively managed and that sound levels are of an excellent quality
Activities:
- Ensure that the sound levels from the musical instruments/microphones are at acceptable levels.
- Keep regular checks on all the monitors, microphones, amplifiers and other sound equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
- Ensure that before the start of every meeting all equipment have been tested and are made ready.
- Ensure that any repair work is carried out in advance of Church meetings
- Ensure someone is always present to manage the PA/overhead systems during Church programmes
- Provide training in the handling of sound equipment.
Maintenance Department
Ensure that the Church Buildings and other church property are kept in good condition at all times.
Activities:
* Carry out routine checks of the whole premises in order to pick up any repair work that need to be done
* Undertake minor repairs e.g. painting/masonry/carpentry work on the church building. Any major work should be reported to the Building Committee immediately in order that professional advice may be sought. Keep a record of all church property and undertake a quarterly inventory of all such items.
Ushers/Usherettes
Maintain order, decency and promote the right atmosphere for quality worship during and after service.
Activities:
* To ensure proper seating arrangements during all church programmes
* Make sure Church publications e.g. magazines, tithing cards, visitors cards, oil, etc are in adequate supply before the beginning of every meeting.
* Ensure that handouts/information for any event are distributed as and when required.
* Helping to maintain order in the foyer while services are in progress
* Assisting in bringing noise levels down in the auditorium, e.g. noisy babies, etc.
* Ensuring that during ministration, oil, covers, tissues etc. are ready and also take instructions from the minister at the time.
* Providing information and assistance to members/visitors as needed
* Making certain that the auditorium is orderly before and after services
* Assisting with receiving offerings.
* Overseeing all arrangements in the auditorium
* The Head Usher should liase with the General Manager on any information that may be necessary to reach Pastor during all services.
Traffic/Transport Department
Facilitate the movement of people and instruments to and from all church-related programmes and activities and to ensure the proper parking and security of vehicles of members and visitors.
Activities:
* Ensure that only Church accredited drivers handle Church vehicles at all times
* Arrange regular maintenance and cleaning of the Church vehicles
* Arrange pick-up services for Sunday services and other Church activities
* Ensure that roadworthiness certificates, insurance and other documents on the vehicles are up to date.
* Take responsibility for the purchase of fuel for the vehicles
* Take responsibility for transporting musical instruments as and when required by the Music Director
* Liase with the Youth leader and organise a rota to transport the youth to their homes after youth after youth meetings held in the evenings.
* Pick-up service for the Choir/Youth/Church members for various events - Pick-up service for visiting Ministers of the Gospel
* Transport members to and from retreat centres
* To ensure proper parking on the church compound, especially along Thornlaw Road to prevent obstruction of the entrances and driveways of residents.
Protocol Department
Maintain a professional relationship between the church, first timers and the public. It is also to ensure that adequate assistance is given to Pastors during and after service.
Activities:
* To ensure that first timers are given a very professional, friendly welcome right at the entrance before handed over to the ushers to be seated.
* Assist the ushers in ensuring order is maintained in the Foyer at all times
* Provide security for guest speakers and Pastors at all times
* To arrange drivers for all visiting Pastors, by organising a rota in liaison with the Transport Committee.
* Liase with the Transport Department to organise pick-up services to and from the airports for visiting Pastors.
